No fault car accident problem with insurance

  • I don't know why they are not offering to recover my excess. They have said I would need to go back to admiral, pay my excess then either pay their legal team to recover my excess or try and claim it back by myself. The accident was a week ago.

I've always believed that motor insurance should cover like for like replacement.  It's not rocket science for the insurer to do a search for xyz model of car with abc mileage.  I would be more than happy for my insurer to say they had found a number of cars matching my current spec and mileage.  I'm sure they could get more substantial discount than joe public.

Thought I would comment now that it has been resolved. I went back to my insurance company rather than the accident management company. They waved my excess saying the other driver was at fault and agreed cost of my car at 5125 about 375 less than what I bought it for 3 months before the accident so I found that acceptable.

Out of interest what were the differences between the offer Auxillis offered you and how much Admiral paid you?
