Where are all the cash buyers?

I have an interesting situation. My house went up for sale 2 weeks ago and every single person who wants the property was told not to put there house for sale until they found a house they wanted. This is because houses are selling fast in Edinburgh. Now 4 of them had babies so I can understand not wanting to be homeless, but surely three of them will be having problems if they sell and have not bought my house? I don't know what the answer is. I have offered them all that I would move out as soon as needed but now I'm waiting for the first house to sell so they can buy my house. Cash buyers would be easier I'm sure.

Really? In England it's the case that you shouldn't start looking for a property to purchase until you already have a buyer for your current property.

I'd be over the moon if I had that much interest in 2 weeks. Just sit tight and I'm sure you'll find a proceedable buyer soon! Hopefully there'll be more viewings booked in for this weekend.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*2

I've had 14 families viewed so far. Only 1 renting. No viewing is available this weekend.

You might have misunderstood - they've been told not to put their house up for sale until they find a house they want and get an offer accepted. Not "everyone who bids has to sell their house". You accept an offer with a date of entry long enough in the future to give them time to sell their own house, and then if necessary everyone juggles the entry dates to fit.Joyful said:I have an interesting situation. Your solicitor and/or estate agent should be able to guide you through this (and advise on likelihood of potential buyers actually selling their own properties quickly).0 -
To me a "cash buyer" is a buyer that doesn't require additional finance rather than chain free"enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb2
