What to expect on completion day?

Completing next Thursday. Exchanged the day before yesterday
Dying to buy new furniture but holding off until we get the keys.
What happens now? Will the bank be credit checking us again? (I'm presuming so so I'm trying to stay way clear of wayfair)
Will we need to provide any more info? Very excited

We weren’t checked again, but it’s certainly a possibility! The only thing I remember doing was checking with solicitors the day before if the mortgage was okay and stuff. She rang me mid morning on completion to say we had completed, and then we had to wait for the agent to ring us to go and collect the keys. Which took FOREVER. Okay, it was 2 hours. But it felt like forever! Good luck.0

They could do a final credit check, I don't think ours did but it's possible so it's a good idea not to have stuff on finance until you have the keys.
If you're a FTB like we were, then you just wait. The solicitor will probably update you at each stage, but they'll be concentrating on completing your house purchase so they might be a bit quiet. We didn't hear anything by 10am, so sent a quick email and they replied saying they were waiting for the vendor's solicitors to confirm they'd received the money. The thing is, they were in a meeting, so that was a bit more waiting around until they confirmed.
Then the only other thing to wait for is the EA to call and say that the keys have been released and you can go and collect them. We had to wait until about 2:30 for ours (a couple of hours after completion) because the vendor was still getting stuff to their new place, but we just hung on and as soon as he dropped them off we could go and collect them.
The only other thing is to remember to take meter readings of your old house and your new house as soon as you get there (easier to just take a photo on your phone). It doesn't really feel like you need to do much, and the day will go quite slow if you're like us and didn't have to move your stuff straight away. If you're moving all your stuff or selling your house, then the day is a bit more frantic as you have to get all that done as well.0 -
On day of completion if all is well, will just get a call from the solicitor or assistant and say have completed. Collect keys or can now move in. Then the fun starts.0
