Pisa motoring fine
a debt collection agency got in touch this week, saying in august 2014 (!) we committed a driving offence in pisa, and we were sent a letter in September 2015. We never received this. They have said if we don't pay £320 we will be taken to court by the Italian police. They have refused to provide us with a copy of the fine, details of the penalties, proof of fine postage.
So we won't pay. We were in Pisa. Can the Italian police take us to court though we live here? Also how can they say they will take us to court without even providing a copy of the fine and providing us with photo evidence?

Is it from Waters and Gate perchance?
If it is, Post Four of the Newbies Sticky covers these goons in their entirety. The Italians have got-shot of it completely by selling it on to them for a pittance. So there is next to no chance of further action beyond more letters.
Your post reads like you have made the mistake of contacting them? Which only confirms your details and indicates that you might actually take them seriously, thus prolonging the time they will spend trying to scare payments out of you.
