Windows 10. Settings. A "Default Program" I want is not on the list.

I have 7z zip(free) portable that I use to examine zip files. I want it to be the default app that opens when I double click a .zip file in file manager but because 7z is portable (not installed or in my registry) windows 10 cannot see it as a possible default program. Is there an easy way to achieve this?

Right click on a zip file and select "open with" then select look for another app on this pc

Why not install it?  That is one of the first programs that I install in full. Right click commands
are extremely useful.

In case anyone had the same question: by using a combination of the two above suggestions with variations I solved it. First I installed 7z zip went back to settings but found that .zip files still were not visible to be selected for changing the default app. I then went to "Right click on a zip file and select "open with" then select look for another app on this pc" and the zip file did open in 7z but 7z did not become the default for all my .zip files.
The solution was to right click on a zip file and select properties then change the "opens with" to 7z.
I now note that .zip files have become visible in settings default apps etc. Maybe it was not visible before because its default was Windows Explorer.
