Looking for a Paypal refund - after ordering something I was unable to cancel

Hi
I was wondering if anyone had experience of a situation similar to this:
1. I signed up for a 14 day free trial of a usenet provider using a temporary email address as I was concerned that they would spam me
2. I created a subscription using Paypal
3. I stupidly forgot to cancel immediately after half a day
4. I lost access to the temporary email address and was unable to log in to the service to cancel
5. I tried to cancel via Paypal but there was no record of a future payment there
6. I tried calling Paypal a couple of times but got nowhere, stuck in a menu that I couldn't navigate to a human being
7. I also tried calling the usenet provider but also got nowhere, also stuck in a menu that gave no possibility to talk with a human being
8. I've been stung for nearly a hundred quid by Paypal, which is allegedly 12 months of the service taken together
Is there anything I can do to get the money back? Assertiveness is not my strong point. I think I've got to do something or I'll get stung for nearly £100 every year ad infinitum.
Regards
H

You need to cancel with the service, as above write to them or resign yourself to the fact that you are going to have to put a bit of real effort and time in trying to phone them.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Signed up for 14 day free trial, yet they have debited you because you forgot to cancel after 1/2 a day? You mean you did not cancel within 14 days.
Sadly you have no comeback.
But for future reference cancelling anything like this is easy via paypal.
>>>>
To cancel your Paypal recurring payment, login at PayPal and follow PayPal's instructions on how to cancel a subscription. In short, you need to find the "preapproved payments" menu point or the transaction where you set up the subscription (or the last transaction sending funds to JMIR) and click the cancel button
