Hi folks. For the 1st time in 11 years, I havent been able to pay my 31st January tax bill. I'm freaking out. I cant even afford the monthly payments they are suggesting as its upwards of £300 a month! What's my best way to proceed? Loan? Credit card money transfer? I really need some help. Thank you in advance. Natasha

the best way forward would be to see one of the free money advice centres and work out where you are spending your money and how you can adjust your lifestyle to live within your means.
To owe £300 + per month in tax alone means you must have been in receipt of a rather decent income, but sadly
one from which it appears you did not set anything aside to cover the tax on it.
You need to set a budget and stick to it. That may include having to take and repay a loan, since you can only fob off HMRC for so long.
