Merits of GAP insurance

Hello
I am in my 60s of age.
Looking to purchase an ex demo car for cash buy. Car is valued at 23000.00
The car company asks if I wish to pay for "Return to Invoice GAP insurance" £619/annum for three years.
My driving history is 35 years with no claim bonus car insurance.
Would it be worth taking this I wonder?
I understand it depends on individual circumstances... But like to know from those who had this in the past and experience with claims.
Thank you

  • I would recommend getting GAP insurance but not at that price! You should be able to source your own for a fraction of what they are offering.
