Section 75 Protection

Hi, just trying to get a clarification on the section 75.  If you buy 2 items from a retailer, each costing £60, making a total purchase of £120, would a claim be valid under S75 as the total is more than £100.  Another example is if you buy a return flight ticket; outgoing journey costing £150 and the return costing £90.  If the airline goes bust B4 you travel, can you than claim the total amount or just for the outgoing journey.  
I'm a bit confused whether S75 applies to the total trans amount, or to the value of the item purchased. ie in the examples I gave above, can you claim for the items above £100

S75 relates to the individual costs ... if the 2x items were a bundle at £120 then S75 would apply; if they were £60 each and you bought 2 then it wouldn't. I'm not sure but I think the same would apply for the flights if they were individual items (separate flights, not linked), so the £150 flight would be covered but not the £90 one.

However you may still have Chargeback rights.

Would not be covered under S75, but there would be chargeback rights if the airline went bust. That would be the same on debit or credit card.
