Thank you for your comments Streaky Bacon. Thats exactly what I told them on the phone, that my bank switch being irrelivent and they are just trying to avoid paying compensation. I have lodged a complaint by email and am waiting for a response. Will update here when I get a response.0

Update. After a lot of emails to and fro, Avro curtly insisted I was not entitled to any refund and that was their final word on the matter. I copied all the emails and the final bill and sent them to the energy ombudsman and to cut a long story short they sided in my favour, stating that Avro hadn't started processing the refund when I phoned on 6th Feb so I still wouldn't have received it in time anyway. Changing my bank details was irrelevant. So it is now 5th June, (4 months later), and I have received £60 compensation. If Avro had said at the beginning that they had made a mistake issuing the final bill on that date I would have accepted that and that would have been the end of the matter. Thank you all for your advice and comments.0

They will do their best to get away with it if they can. Well done for getting what you were rightly due.0
