(January 2018 was just a random statement that I looked at, not my first after changing the statement date. I let them collect on their choice of date for a few months before cancelling the DD.)

Looking at my husband's account, full direct debit is taken 2 weeks after statement. I changed my account for minimum direct debit, which is taken about a week before due date and I pay manually the rest. I was quite annoyed with full direct debit payment being taken so early after statement date.

And you can change the date of statement.
