Looking at my husband's account, full direct debit is taken 2 weeks after statement. I changed my account for minimum direct debit, which is taken about a week before due date and I pay manually the rest. I was quite annoyed with full direct debit payment being taken so early after statement date.
And you can change the date of statement.
