In desperate need to insure car

Recently moved back to UK from EU, now aged 70.
Trying desperately to get insurance for my UK built right hand drive car.Purchased from new 5 years ago, driven back to UK late last year.and re-registered in the UK through the DVLA,
Have tried and failed with a number of individual ins. companies as well as comparison sites without a single quote being received. Prior to moving to the EU had many years no claims, and for the whole ten years of living in the EU all were no claims. (for which I have a NCB cert. in english), Really do need to be mobile again as my wife needs hospital treatment nearly every week  (Occasionally twice) at a hospital that is a hour and a half away on a bad day which can make for a tiring long day for the both of us,and the both of us being 70 life would be much easier all round for shopping and the other day to day running around.
I,d appreciate any help or constructive advise, thank you.

What are you ticking that fails to get a quote?  Car imported? No UK licence?

if your old EU insurer has a UK side then contact them, otherwise you probably need to declare
zero no claims.  Just tried a Ford Focus, 80 year old driver had licence 20+ years and zero no claims
    and it was surprisingly cheap.

Speak to an insurance broker if you can't get a quote yourself. It sounds like you're doing something wrong, but I can't tell what from the information you've posted.
  • Sorted out, used Adrian Flux. They were very helpful and understanding. Got it for £570 which for me is good considering the situation and circumstances plus the car is a EU right hand drive import (UK specs). I swear to god one company quoted me £5995 for a 5 year old C3 Picasso with less than 13500 miles on the clock.
