Changed my story talking to insurers about car theft

I had my car stolen on Sunday last year and written off. I called up my insurance and told them that I was last driving the car on the Saturday morning. I also told them I still have the key for it. I did mention that I had lost the original key and that this one was a replacement.

Later on I realised that I didn't have the key. I did however have an identical key which I never got the immobilizer to work so it didn't start the car. I didn't think this counted as it doesn't work. I sent them a letter my paper work for the car, I also put a note in that I didn't have the key and I had lost it.

More recently they called me up to clarify about the keys. I told them about the other non-working key and how I mistook that for the working one. They had a moan that I hadn't told them earlier but I explained that I didn't think it was important as it doesn't start the car. We talked about keys again and I forgot to tell them about the replacement key, which we talked about before. They had a moan about that too. I also said I was last driving the car on Thursday as  forgot about the short trip on the Saturday morning. The police had also called me back after I contacted them, which I didn't reply to which the insurance were unhappy about.

They had a moan to me on the phone. Implied that I could have a refused claim on my record and that it would effect my future insurance premiums. They asked if I still wanted to proceed with the claim. They even asked me if I was driving when I crashed it.

I was tempted to cancel the claim, it is only worth £1500 after the excess etc. However I haven't. I know I have really ballsed up this claim. I should have written a statement after I realised the car was missing. I am autistic so I have a memory like a sieve. Do you think they'll refuse my claim? Also is there any method to appeal if they do? I still have receipts for the keys etc.
