Help with changing me email account please.

Hi folks.

I have Incredimail and I'm getting so much spam it's unbelievable. I have opened an Yahoo account but I would really like to set it as my defualt email.

Firstly, is that possible? And also, I would need a step-by-step guide with what to do as I'm no techie

I do know that you have to change the pop server settings, but that's it.

Can anyone please help me?

not 100% sure if the free yahoo acounts will do pop3 but the details will be in their help section if they do. The smtp will be the same as the current one. I know google mail has pop3 option but you must select it in the settings. Or just get another incredimail account

The POP setting and smpt settings are as follows.

Yahoo Incoming Mail Server (POP3) - pop.mail.yahoo.com (port 110)

Yahoo Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) - smtp.mail.yahoo.com (port 25)

In OUtlook Express

Set the Default Email Account in Outlook Express

To make an email account the default in Outlook Express:

• Select Tools | Accounts... from the menu.
• On the Mail tab, highlight the desired account.
• Click Set as Default.
• Now click Close.

IN OUtlook 2003

To change the default sender, open the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts, select the View Or Change Existing E-mail Accounts radio button, and click Next. Select the email account you want to set as the default, click the Set As Default button, and click Finish. It’s that simple. From this point on Outlook will automatically insert that email account into the From field of every email message you send, unless you change your default email.

As for the incredimail - email your contacts from yahoo and delete the acc if poss or stop logging into it.

Middleman, I did what you siad but didn't work. Now I can't get my Incredimail back. All I get is this message....

Failed to find host. Socket Error: 11004, Port: 110,Protocol: POP.The requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the correct associated data being resolved for.

Any ideas?
