Bought a car

We bought a car in good faith from a well known  Garage with a good reputation  they told us that the car war a good runner I put it in for its first Mot and the mechanic said that the steering pump was not working and the turbo had blown  and the oil pump  was not working  just wondering where we stand

Comments

  • First as in its a nearly new, or the first one you have done with it?

When did you buy the car?
  • If the steering pump, turbo and oil pump were not working, I very much doubt if you would have been able to drive to the MOT centre/garage or at the very least, you would have had a car that had the handling characteristics of a house brick.

Care to expand just who this is?

Not sure where in the MOT it covers Turbo & oil pump?
    Life in the slow lane

Nowhere, but if the MOT tester thought that there was a problem with the vehicle that meant running the engine or driving it could cause damage, they can refuse to carry out the test.
No oil pressure or a non functioning turbo could easily be enough for this to happen.

I think you need a second opinion on any faults.  If the car was that bad, you would soon know about it.  It would be really difficult to steer at low speeds, way down on power, and even more down on power when the engine seized from a lack of oil.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
