Switching & warm home discount

Hi, just wanted to alert people that it appears if you're waiting for your warm home discount and switch energy supplier before it's applied to your account you won't get it with the old or new supplier. You will have to apply afresh for the discount with your new energy supplier, some companies are not part of the scheme. It seems Scottish Power don't apply the discount til March, I don't know the other companies apply it. It leaves us in a tricky position, as really it's a good time to switch, but it might not be worth it until after the warm home discount has been applied.

It looks like if you switch supplier now at the end of June you will miss out on the qualifying date for a warm home discount with your new supplier which will be paid in March 2021. This seems to be disqualifying those on low incomes from easily switching suppliers.
