O/S Daily Wednesday 12 February 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dark, cold and windy here.
Dinner last night was pork chops, roast potatoes, LO mash, veg, yorkshires and gravy, not sure about tonight - I need to pick up some more milk, pots and salad so will have a look to see what to have.
Yesterday work wasn't too bad, last working day today then I'm on days' off until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Brr another cold one with sleet and wind forecast again.
Flying visit from me as it's all systems go here. Need to be on my way with poor little Sparkle for her chin biopsy by 8.oo a.m. Because of the anaesthetc she hasn't to have any breakfast and is meowing away in the kitchen. No sooner will I get back than I shall be off out again. It's Golden Girls bus trip day but we are one down today as she is accompanying her DH to the hospital. So just two of us today. I was going to cancel too but thought it would take my mind off worrying about Sparkle. We will probably just go to Ilkley as we doubt there will be much of a market on in Skipton this weather. So a quick browse and then lunch as I don't want to be late back as Sparkle will be to collect at tea=time.
Have a good day folks and keep warm and snug. ((HUGS)) for all who need/want them and take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Good morning, very cold and windy here, but dry at the moment. We had light sleet and snow showers yesterday afternoon. Thanks NMLC for starting us off. You've got a busy day ahead TA, hope Sparkle will be ok. Enjoy your natter and lunch out anyway.I've got a bit of tidying to do, and some sewing to catch up with, and might get some towels out to dry, or dryish at any rate.Dgs came as usual yesterday, but he was really out of sorts after his nap, he was very clingy, and was running a temperature. When Dd came for him later.said he'd woken with a bit of a cold, but it had obviously developed a bit when he was asleep here. I gave him liquid paracetomol and he dozed on my lap for about an hour, then brightened up and started to play with his toys.By the time his Mum came for him at 5.30 he was flagging, so I don't know what kind of a night she's had with him.We went to the quiz as usual last night, but some of the regulars were missing, no doubt the weather had put them off.Thinking of the sad, worried and poorly people.Take care folks13

Morning All
Hope Sparkle gets on OK TA.
I'm not liking this new set up on here, missing lots of the old bits and the spacing seems pretty big.
I had a good weekend in The Hague with DS1 and GF, lots of walking and good food. A trip to the beach was interesting, we could hardly stand up but couldn't stop laughing. Unfortunately I wasn't well when I was away, a very sore throat and high temp and now have a raging cold. Hope I haven't left it over there. I spent most of yesterday either laying on the sofa or in bed. I have to go back to work today with training this afternoon, better keep taking the paracetemol.
The weather is awful, sleet showers and a horrid wind with snow forecast for later. Could do with another day off!
Take care. XX

Morning all.Sorry you're so poorly CAMELOT, keep drinking! Hope you feel better soon.TA. - Sparkle will forgive you.I've no idea what's on the agenda today. I had a second deep tissue massage booked for this afternoon though I've moved it to next week. The forecast for today was really awful so I didn't want to commit to having to go out, now it seems that the snow may well skim round Glasgow again. Back at my own home things are much worse with cars and lorries struggling to climb the Rest.Seems to be plenty of folks still missing here, perhaps it's a logging on problem rather than just leaving.I'm off for a coffee and a browse. Happy Wednesday to all.11

Morning. Cold this morning our boiler is playing up it’s over 15 years old so we need to replace it This morning it was on for a short time but not enough to heat the house. We will get one but need to wait until April to pay for it. Working today. Not sure what we will have for tea.

Good morning, I have towels in the washer so am hoping mr weatherman is telling the truth.
DH has taken the car for service and MOT and he was being gloomy about it yesterday, it is 16 years old. I'm hoping it does pass or at least that it is not too costly because it is useful and we don't want the expense of another one.
I'll be working late afternoon and early evening, the other s i of Birmingham, I could actually get to London more quickly.
Hope everyone has a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back12 -
Good luck with the MOT AOD.
TA, I hope Sparkle is ok.
We managed to clean the house yesterday after the electrician had finished fitting the smoke alarms. We also took rubbish up to the tip because the neighbours had filled our bin over a week before collection was due. We had told them we didn't mind them using it because they take it down to be emptied when we're not here in return for them parking on the drive but now I will have to compose a careful text asking them not to put stuff in it until collection day.
I don't know what we'll do today, it looks a bit cold to go walking so we might just go for a drive.

Morning from a bright, cold Kent. Plan to go to allotment later for some veggies for our dinner later. Lovely to see the bedding waving away on the line, love the smell of line dried washing!
planning a meal from the Mowgli cookbook, visited their original restaurant in Liverpool last month. If you ever see a restaurant, try it, their food is amazing. I seem to remember Cranky has the cook book too.
have a good day allCarolbee12 -

AOD fingers crossed for the MOT I have a little older car and worry each year but i love the winkler so called because its little it winkles in and out of all the parking spaces
TA I am sure Sparkle will be fine if a little vocal and have the hump when you collect her but she should get over it quickly
Ruby I am thinking of you still
Right Dolly walked and fed and now sleeping on top of the sofa in the front window keeping the street safe . The sun is shinning but the wind is still up but not as bad as the weekend. Not too much housework to do today just a quick swish n swipe . Dinner tonight is chicken in black bean sauce with egg fried rice . Have a great day whatever you are up to and stay warm and safe xSlava Ukraini12
