Waiting impatiently

Hi
We are in the process of buying a house and have been waiting since the end of November for our vendor to deal with their enquiries, specifically they have to get redemption statements from Welcome Finance for several secured loans they have on the property. Has anyone had experience of waiting for these and how long it may take?
Thanks

I doubt that a hold-up since November is because the vendor is waiting for redemption statements.
What does the vendor's estate agent say is happening? The estate agent should be progressing the sale - i.e. chasing both the vendor and you to get things done.
(Although, if it's the type of estate agent that's paid in advance, they might not be bothering.)
Is there a chain above the vendor?

Thanks for reply, there’s no chain above and not heard anything from estate agent (purple bricks).0

I suspect that using Purple Bricks is part of the problem.di7026 said:Thanks for reply, there’s no chain above and not heard anything from estate agent (purple bricks).
They are paid in advance, so they have no interest in getting the sale to completion. ('Traditional' EAs get paid on completion, so they will chase everyone along, to make sure they get their fee.)
Probably the best thing to do is contact the vendors and ask them what's happening. Obviously, they may not be completely honest with you - especially if there is some kind of problem that they're trying to hide from you. But if they're trying to hide something, you might be able to tell from their attitude.2
