Post Office Credit Card

Hi all
Just flagging up recent dealings I’ve had with Post Office Credit Card (administered by the Bank of Ireland) following the theft of my card in Paris over the weekend.
I had no issue getting the card cancelled but after advice from their customer services I tried to get an emergency cash advance, from them and MasterCard but unfortunately this was a dismal experience. Firstly the advance was approved, then cancelled, resulting in each of them blaming the other for not approving, then finally quoting ‘ the advance is not possible due to the card being held in a sterling account’. Well of course it is, as I applied for it in the UK, a market I thought they dealt in.
The service was appalling and I would urge anyone and everyone to ditch this card provider immediately, as in an emergency they will not help you.
Get one from a better prepared and organised company, as I intend to do, and not these amateurs.
They also clearly don’t care about their customers concerns as confirmed by my last call being disconnected whilst waiting to be connected to a different department. I have now registered a formal complaint with them although I don’t hold out much hope of them getting back to me.
May try the financial ombudsman as well, unless anyone has any better ideas or experiences. Thank you.

They're not a provider that most people would choose to use, but that's not an offence.0 -

New Post Office credit cards are no longer provided by the bank of Ireland - they are now Capital one.0
