Self employed and signed off work

hello. I hope this is the right place to post this, I wasn’t sure. My husband is a self employed worked and has been seen unfit for work long term by the GP, so this is leaving us with just my wages. These don’t cover much more than the basic bills. Is there a template of a letter we can use to send to creditors please? We just need a bit of breathing space. Thank you!
