Spent MONTHS trying to source an affordable replacement toilet seat. Can anyone help?

We have a very unusual Visions toilet seat. It's not so much the shape as the fixings - they are very close together at the back and we can't find a seat to match the holes in our toilet. Someone on here recommended the Choice Replacement Seat Toilet Shop https://www.choicereplacementtoiletseatshop.co.uk/toilet-seat-finder we've tried them with very disappointing results.
First of all we selected the appropriate shape and sent dimensions only to be told they had nothing in stock. So we spent a considerable amount of time taking photos and emailing them as requested. 20 minutes later we got an email back from "Ross" directing us to a site with £148 - £165 Visions toilet seats. We've already been to that site. We found it ourselves but none of the fixings match our toilet and we're not risking £148 on something that might not fit - we might as well get a new toilet. This site is about Moneysaving and I don't know about you but £148+ is a bit steep for a toilet seat.

Ross also reminded us to "check our dimensions". Using guidance from the the site and in expectation that we would need to provide this we'd already made a detailed drawing of the seat with every dimension carefully measured so that was also a rather superfluous piece of advice. They didn't ask for dimensions and didn't seem in the least bit interested. I'd been told by others that you can make templates of your seat and send them and they will try their best to find you a match. But the impression we got was that they weren't interested, never looked at the photos and couldn't be bothered.
We've tried eBay, we've tried various bathroom shops, we're prepared to put the work in but the average price seems to be around £150 with no guarantee that it will actually fit at the end of it all and possibly no returns policy for hygiene reasons. Are we unreasonable for not wanting to shell out this much?

I'm happy to PM photos if anyone is interested in helping. Just didn't want to post photos of our bog without warning!0

I bought a Croydex one off Amazon that had adjustment on the screws. They were on a slider bar at the back so could be positioned any distance apart you liked. It was a standard shape loo seat though, if yours is a funny shape pan as well then this may not work.0

Yeah it's a funny shaped pan. Straight at the back and then a sort of elongated mug shaped oval.0

Shape "V" on this auction is the closest to what we have. But this one is too thick at the back.0 -
Have you tried checking if you have any reclamation yards in your area as they may be able to help if they have stripped out one from another place that could be what you need??0

It's a fair point, but it's a fairly modern button flush toilet with the white plastic seat and lid. Just an unusual shape of seat. Would a reclamation yard really keep stuff that modern?0
-
It might be easier and cheaper to get a whole new toilet......Regards

Fair point but if there is one around near you there is no harm in trying, they will hold on to bits if they think there is a chance of a salefallen121 said:It's a fair point, but it's a fairly modern button flush toilet with the white plastic seat and lid. Thats why I always go for a "universal" toilet, never a "dedicated" one, so youve got a much bigger choice. Never buy the type with a D shape seat.0

I'm not sure there's much a market for second hand toilet seats?London50 said:Have you tried checking if you have any reclamation yards in your area as they may be able to help if they have stripped out one from another place that could be what you need??Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
