House Insurance, is my house uninhabitable?

My house flooded from Storm Ciara. Drain in the backyard couldn't handle the volume of water so it backed up and then came in through the door frame. Kitchen floor is covered in dirty water and living room carpet is soaked through with dirty water.

Insurance company have sent out a restoration company who are going to install dehumidifiers which should run 24 hours a day and are very loud.
We have 6 month old twins who should be sleeping 16 hours a day, and I don't think it sounds good for them to be living in a damp house where they can't sleep because of the noise.

My buildings/contents insurance has cover for Alternative Accommodation where my house has been deemed 'uninhabitable' but the policy wording does not define the word uninhabitable. Do you think given the circumstances, that it's reasonable for me to expect to get alternative accommodation until the house is dry?

Have you been assigned a loss adjuster from your insurer? Ask them. If not I would ring your insurer and ask if you can have alternative accommodation.
