Bright sun, just above freezing, the snow we had yesterday has frozen its like a skating rink out. Very glad I do not have to go out, staying in the warm, hope it has cleared by Thursday when I am due to go shopping again.
Stovies for supper tonight, I have some fruit in the freezer I want to use up, so a plum crumble is also on the menu.10 -
I have just put washing on the line, might have to get it in soon as the forecast is for hail!

We had to go into Skipton early to the optician. I picked up my new glasses and Steve saw the opician about the problems he's been having. It seems the cataract that was caused by the steroids he was on has grown quite quickly so she is referring him.
The rest of the day will be taken up by cleaning the house which is coated in a fine layer of dust since the electrician wired in the new linked smoke alarms, co alarms and heat detector. We now have several redundant standalone smoke alarms to get rid of,

Afternoon all
Snow shower and frost here during the night, cold sunny morning, then a heavy snow shower, now the sun is shining again!
I am finding this new face difficult to manage at times but I think that I am getting better at it.
Have a good day

Afternoon all. Got up exceedingly early for me, 8 o clock! woop! followed by tea, coming to, fetching a thing i bought on FB, followed by more tea, washing, playing Hearthstone, phoning for an appointment to have my hair cut, she had a cancellation so I'll be off in a bit. I've taken out the three logs that were in the boot of my car and now have to hoover it ready for Friday...I expect he'll be moving stuff to put wiring in, so I at least want it to half look like I care about the insides and outsides...tru, your font is back to normal...well done TA! how's Sparkle liking it? Gers, continued admiration...Hey all reading along if you can in the new format [ still not used to it] Twirly windy Tuesday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Afternoon all. Been for hearing test today as concerned I’m losing hearing. Some mild loss but DH has moderate to severe and could do with an aid. Will look into that. Swift trip into Liddly for their lovely sourdough consumed whilst watching Homes under the Hammer. I’d quite like another project but some persuasion will have to take place ..... take care in the wild and woolly weatherCarolbee9

Afternoon all. Same old mixed bag of weather again today with rain, hail, sleet and snow thrown at us. Even a bit of sun at one point! And the biting wind is still with us. I was well wrapped up for my trip into town and we were nice and cosy chatting away over our coffees. For lunch I had a bowl of some warming Leek & Potato soup with a toastie in sourdough bread - Gammon, salami and mozarella. Very tasty it was too. The coffee shop was quieter than usual but not unexpected in view of the weather. The staff think they have probably another 6 weeks left before it closes. It will be a sad day both for them and their regular customers.
I now feel very lazy so my feet are up for the afternoon. My little Sparkle is reclining on a cushion beside me. (TAFF -She keeps going to sniff around her new contraption but, as yet, doesn't trust it!) Poor little cat, she goes in tomorrow for the biopsy on her chin. We need to be away by just gone 8.00 to get over to the vets before 8.30. Then they are all transported in the Pet Ambulance to the bigger surgery where all ops and procedures are done. I shall spend the day worrying about her.
Enjoy the rest of the day folks and keep safe and warm xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
Hello all. Blimey we're well into page 2. It's lovely to see so many people on here. Gers and Redruby I thought you'd become undercover agents for a minute ! Good to see you both back. Tru I find that much better too, thanks.We decided to go over the mountain road to Ffoods, HB and As*a etc today and we hoped the roads were clear..... they were ! Seems like the gritters had been out in force. The mountains as far as the eye could see were snow covered, such a beautiful sight and looked just like a Christmas card. We didn't take Dad as we were unsure of the road condition and getting stuck with a 90 year old geriatric would have been no fun for anyone. (Would have been bad enough for us 2 oldies
)
I needed to fill the freezers ( I wanted to fill them before Dad got any whiff of space again) and also the store cupboards, just in case we get snowed in or illness strikes. I now feel ready to take on whatever gets thrown our way. I have played freezer tetris and shoehorned everything in, but now I have to do the same with the store cupboards, although even the overspill one is looking pretty full before I start ! As we had lunch out today I don't have to cook tea tonight thank goodness, I'm worn out just shopping ! Just need to pop to Al*is tomorrow for a lemonade top up, milk and fruit.
Take care all. Hugs to anyone in need.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8 -
