Hello, I have a new self employed job where I will be receiving payments in dollars from China. I am very confused about what bank account would be best in terms of favourable exchange rates and charges. Would be grateful for any advice. Thanks

Have a look at Fineco Bank UK, TransferWise Borderless account and Revolut as options for receiving the dollar payments and conversion to GBP, which you can then send to your regular bank account to benefit from FSCS protection.Evolution, not revolution0

Hi I have recently opened a USD account in the UK with Barclays which allows you to withdraw USD. You must open a GBP current account first. I hope this helps.0

If you are after a "proper" bank account in USD - Barclays and HSBC offer them for GBP account holders with them. But the currency conversion rates and transaction fees are poor, compared to the "online" alternatives like Transferwise.0
