Microsoft is attempting to fix some assorted screw-ups in the so-called Final Update, I suspect.

The final quality rollup was in January.

There will be the odd security update that can cause security issues for other windows users.
XP had a few updates long after its EOL date.

This is related to the issue of users' wallpaper appearing black when stretching an image. This bug was introduced in a recent security fix.I'd recommend not installing previews -- they are intended for testing and feedback before the "fully tested" version is released.1
