Hi, my first post in the forum!
I've had a default with Capquest which is due to go off my credit file in April but now im getting letters after no contact in around 3 years threatening me with a ccj if i don't reply, what do i do?? I'm saving for a house i do not want a ccj, this has come from nowhere.

If the default has been sitting there for almost six years then this has hardly 'come from nowhere'. Your creditor is probably looking at the debt now as it is getting close to the point where it will be statute-barred. If it is genuinely your debt then you will need to look at settling it if you want to be approved for a mortgage anytime soon. Any further recovery action, such as a CCJ, would make securing a mortgage very difficult.Mash91 said:Hi, my first post in the forum!

Was it a consumer credit act debt ?
