Removing named tenant

I need to remove my daughters name from the tenancy agreement the agents are saying it’s not possible without making a new agreement which involves credit references and cost, we have rented the same home for 6years my daughter has been on the agreement since 2017

There are two ways that this can be done, the first is (as the agent says) by ending the current tenancy and creating a brand new one involving credit checks on you but no fees as these have now been banned.
The other way is by you, your daughter and the landlord all signing a 'deed of variation' but this can only be done with the LL's consent.

Probably. But the maths seems off - been there 6 years, daughter added 3 years ago. Presumably when she turned 18.
I didnt think children were calculated for most benefits these days anyway - in terms of household income?
  • If mum wants to claim HB/UC-housing-element as sole occupant?  Just wondering, not accusing anyone.
