What happened at the end of the first 12 months - at month 11 you should have been advised that your tariff was coming to an end. Did you contact SP and take out a new contract ? If not then you will go onto a different (higher) tariff - there's no such thing as a standard business tariff.

Look at your bills and see how the rates changed between month 12 and 13.  How much did you owe at the end on month 12 ?

  • Thanks robin9.  I’m still in contract but they have been reducing my DD payments since the beginning the start of contract but are now saying that I owe them money.  I can get out of the contract in august but they’re still claiming that I have to repay all money before then. TBH if they’d kept the original DD payments in place I’d be in credit now.

  • Thank you robin9. I have had an independent meter expert investigating today and he doesn’t believe that the Scottish power meter is reading accurately (he has encountered this before). He is clamping an (Independent reader???) to the mains and will report back to me as to his findings. In his opinion, giving the electricity equipment that I use and his ampage readings today, he finds it unbelievable that they claim that their claim is correct.
