So I have now opened up a Stock and Shares ISA and have started looking into the world of funds. I have read here about going for larger global funds as per the risk factor which I don't mind about
Any funds out there I can look at? I am also using the Halifax Stocks and Shares ISA

Start with multi-asset funds from companies like HSBC and Vanguard. Something like the VAnguard Life Strategy range is a good bet. There are several versions with different ratios of equities to bonds that you can choose.“So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.”1

and Lindsel Train

Both have served me well.
Indeed use Trustnet.com to do all sorts of fund analysis

Both have served me well.
Train himself has said to expect lower returns from his fund going forward
Best to stick to cheaper passive funds/Lifestrategypoppy101 -
I would watch a couple of the shareholders meetings videos at https://www.fundsmith.co.uk/tv and decide yourself if you prefer this kind of approach or passive funds instead.0

If you are not investing a huge amount of money then it might be easier just to pick one of Halifax's own Managed growth funds .
The charge is 0.5%

Not sure I agree with that advice. As a novice (or indeed for many experienced investors, I would think) it's hard not to be impressed by The Terry Smith Show. But it should only be one small part of your decision making process.Prism said:I would watch a couple of the shareholders meetings videos at https://www.fundsmith.co.uk/tv and decide yourself if you prefer this kind of approach or passive funds instead.1 -
Prism wasn't pushing Smith at all !!He was responding (with caution) to jennyjj who was pumping fundsmith (and Train).0

Shrug, its where I first started. Its interesting to hear the point of view of the manager of the UKs biggest fund and then decide if its for you or not. I'm sure someone else will post the Lars Kroijer vids for another point of viewaroominyork said:
