    I can't see that it matters what symbol it has on it as long as you can still use it.
    So, as the article says:
    You'll still be able to use the cards until at least 31 December 2020 – and if you have an EHIC with the old design, you can carry on using it until then, as long as it hasn't expired.

    I tend to agree with the first reply.

    I have British and Irish nationality and have had an Irish passport for decades (for security), but I am resident in England. Could I get an Irish EHIC and, if so, how?
