Bank lost wages?

Hoping someone will have an idea about this, as its not something I've come across before.
My daughters wages are paid direct to her account with Barclays by the company she works for.
They usually transfer across no problem.
This month they weren't showing in her account when they should be and after chasing her company up they said that the wages had been 'declined' by the bank.
they checked her account details were correct and put the wages back through the system.

Still no wages. Barclays say ' we would never refuse a credit to an account, go back to company'
company say wages haven't been returned again - question is - where are they!!!
keep getting cut off on phone to Barclays Bombay as well!!
anyone got any ideas what we do next or who we see?

The company can confirm account number and sort code to her. She needs to make them check that they sent her money to those details NOT that they are correct on their system at the company.
The company where the money has come from can also do a trace through their bank as to where it has been sent. If the money was returned once it would have been the details being wrong. If the account number is wrong or sort code it will be put onto an internal bank account and usually returned from where it has come.
