Have you decided where to go?
I always book online. First of all I compare prices of flights---do a google on flight comparisons from say...GLASGOW to Los Angeles, and when you've found a price you like you can then subscribe to a newsgroup covering your chosen destination and ask questions on there about hotels, special offers etc. I do that all the time for Las Vegas and at present for San Diego. You will be amazed at the amount of money you save doing it this way for you can then check for a flight+hotel at one of the places like expedia.
If can be of further help please ask.

There are loads more sites out there , as margaret said once you have narrowed it down to a particular area/resort/country try doing a google"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."

Try going to a travel agent in the high street, getting an idea and some brochures and let them give you a price. Then spend an afternoon or whatever beating the price on the internetNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0
