Solid wall external insulation

Hi, my house needs to be re-rendered, I'm considering having the external walls insulated, has anyone who has had this done encountered problems, damp or condensation problem?

There has been one thread at least within the last year that catalogued a whole bunch of issues with EWI - The upshot was, close attention must be paid to the detailing, particularly around the top, and any joints if you have extensions or odd shaped rooms/projections. From a personal opinion of the houses around here that have had EWI fitted, it looks piggin' ugly, especially around the window reveals, and real nasty where there is a bay window.

For my sins, I have a solid brick wall that I've been insulating - Doing it internally so can avoid any ugliness with window reveals, downpipes, and roof overhangs. As it is internal, I can do much of the work myself and avoid scaffolding and the cost that that would entail.  Early days, so I can't comment on damp, but condensation has been virtually eliminated already.
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
