New Santander online authentication causing concern?

Santander have uplifted their online banking site and the login authentication  is simplified. They have dropped one of the validation criteria ie password and now I can login just with my user id and hard fixed length PIN code - 5 digits (which is valid for telephone banking as well). Very simple and seems to be in conflict with the Strong customer authentication (SCA) FCA requirements of multi factor authentication? I have logged in security concern, which I believe is serious vulnerability issue. The response time is 2-3 days which is hardly reassuring ....
