Probate - inheriting property which was already in the sale process - will I be shown as owner

Understood - maybe I came off 'in writing' as more stressed out than I actually am, sorry!JGB1955 said:You AREN'T currently the owner - the Executors are, so no need to stress yourself/
I didn't quite spell out my concern but it's this: there's a certain person, who for "reasons" doesn't know where I live (but would love to know) and I want it to stay that way. Given the address of the property and £4 or whatever it is to access the Land Registry record, 'someone' could find out my own address.0 -
If the will has your current address on it that becomes a public document once probate has been granted, and there is nothing you can do about that.d2446679 said:

OK, so basically your name appears as vendor only on paperwork from Estate Agent.d2446679 said:
There are things like communications between the estate agent handling the sale and the buyer, and the "memo of sale" listing my name and address as the vendor and the buyer's details as the purchaser. The agent is aware of the situation, in fact they only way they have got my details is via the executors.badger09 said:I do not understand how your name could appear as the vendor on the paperwork.
At the time the property was put up for sale, when your now deceased relative's solicitor drew up the initial contract, you had no interest in the property. Can you explain please.
In the circumstances you've described, any official docs between the solicitors should show the executor's name as vendor, so there should be no question of your name appearing on land registry.0 -
Thanks for reminding me to check this! I checked it out, and it details "Miss XYZ my [relative] " but no address given, so "phew" I suppose.Keep_pedalling said:

It would have been an old address, as the Will was made long before I bought my house 5 years ago. But anyone insistent on finding a person would be able to use an old address as a good starting point.0
