Boots rip off nhs

I am disabled and receive ESA as well and Every time I go to options is paid by NHS therefore the option doesn’t charge me at all because they paid by nhs
until now for the first time I went to Boots options and they made me sign nhs vouchers and they changed me £70 when I complained how come all options in United Kingdom which I used for the past 20 years they are happy with nhs payment and they didn’t charge me a penny??? They answered this is Boots and we don’t comment on other options 
and I ask them that I like you comment about boots not others options but they still could not answer only said this is boots policy 
I really think it’s a Rip-off Boots

This isn't in the correct forum, this forum is for employment issues. It's very unclear what has happened here. What type of esa do you get, what was your prescription for and what options did you pick on the vouchers?

They made you sign and you paid it then complained?

I'm assuming you went to boots opticians and you were charged? Whether you're entitled to free NHS eye tests with a voucher towards any glasses you need will depend on what ESA you're claiming. If it's Contributions based then you won't automatically be entitled to this.

If you're claiming Income related ESA then anything over the value of the voucher you will need to pay the extra yourself.

Even if you are claiming the correct benefits to get the help in most cases you will only qualify for the voucher every two years IF your prescription has changed.

At a guess I'd say the frames/lenses you chose exceeded the value of the voucher you qualified for.

What does your receipt say?

At other opticians maybe what you chose came within the voucher value.

I always use Boots opticians.
I also get free eye-tests and an NHS voucher....and have always been able to get both the eye-test and glasses free of charge there if needed.
However, the 'free frames' are very basic - if you want something slightly more stylish then you pay a supplement...equally if you want 'extras' such as thinner lenses or special coatings these are charged for...tinted lenses are also not free (unless, as I do, you have them as a necessity for an eye/sight condition).
OP...did you get charged for the eye test?...was the £70 charge down to 'extras' or more expensive frames?
