British gas- pdf bill

Hi I try to view my pdf bill on my account but still saying not ready to download/ unavailable even though it's been a while .now, not sure why pdf isn't available

    Perhaps give it until tomorrow, and if still not available to download, give them a call?
    I'm not sure anyone here at MSE will be able to speed up the process for you.
  • Just asking for advice that's all as usually 48hrs but been few days to view pdf on account

    I know someone else having a similar problem, they got an email last week to tell them their latest bill is ready to view, 3 days later and it still says "not available", will phone them next week as they also took two payments for their energy this month (possibly due to tariff change). I know it usually takes a few days before some bills are available, so perhaps its just an automated alert that the bill is ready but it's not really, which seems a bit daft but in these days of automated billing, it's not a surprise. Must say, I'll be sad to leave Yorkshire Energy when my current deal ends, as they are very quick with updated bills once readings are submitted and you never get this issue of it not being available!

    Not too impressed with British Gas at the moment as I know someone else who has just switched back to them & got an email telling them their smart meters aren't compatible so they'll need to give them readings manually. This is despite their SMETS1 meters being installed by British Gas in the first place. Then when they went to input the readings online, it will only accept an electric reading. After contacting them they say its because the gas smart meter is working ok so the computer system won't let it input a manual reading, but the electric smart meter needs fixed..... This is of course rubbish as they can't possibly be getting the readings from the gas meter since the electric meter and its comms unit needs fixed, they are just going on gas estimates until such time as they can send an engineer.

    I wouldn't worry about it, just check again next week and it'll probably be available after a few days at most. Billing is pretty much all done by computer, auto-generated so likely just to be a gap between the system telling you the bill is ready and it actually generating the bill.
