I might be wrong but Laks hasn't posted for a couple of days. 
If this is anything to do with the new forum I will have to slap somebody.

I wouldn't be surprised if people migrate from this GREAT MESS.

Obviously the Editor-in-Chief must think so much of himself since he hasn't reacted to people's comments.

The forums were only back online on Friday. Chances are nobody is working over the weekend. There is a huge thread of comments on the site feedback forum, many repeating the same things over and over again. That is where any comments will be read, not here in Compers Chat, not on the main comp board neither. Plus, the forums are NOT a competition site, the competition section is just a part of the MSE forums which cover a huge range of topics over the different boards.

I agree that MSE isn't a competitions site, however this section is heavily subscribed and competitions are promoted in most of the newsletters sent out by MSE.  After such a massive change to the forums, why do it on a Friday if few people are working over weekend?  Surely another day might have been better as more staff would be available to sort out issues.

When I worked, we always got given bad news either on a Friday or before a public holiday.
That way the management escaped the flak, enjoyed their weekend having spoilt everybody elses, and by the time they came back people had calmed down a bit ....

Something that may have upset some of the more prolific posters on here would be losing their thanks from the old forum  

now shows as zero in our profiles.

Sure I read somewhere there was an issue with bringing the correct number over and they will be looking at it (hopefully that is a very low priority for spending time on), my signature was from some months in the past as well - wonder if it's connected to that old date that was showing at the top of some pages.
