The Portside Inn, Belfast

I recently parked at the Portside whilst going off to do a job.  I returned about 2 hours or so later.  I received a demand for £60 along with two photos of my vehicle arriving and leaving - although none of me.  Is this worth while ignoring?

Was the job at the pub?  Do not ignore you could end up with a CCJ, read the stickies.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

The Keeper can safely ignore a PCN in NI. The identity of the Driver should never be revealed, not even on this forum.

I suggest you click on the cog-like icon in the top right of your opening posit and remove information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper, who are two different people.

If The Driver was working at the pub then The Keeper should complain to the pub owner/brewery CEO.
Otherwise make sure The Driver doesn't park on private land without the landowner's permission.

Read the sticky thread for NEWBIES that was just underneath where you clicked on New Discussion that tells you to read it before starting a thread. There is specific information there on what to do if a vehicle keeper lives in NI.

But that's not editing your opening post.

Your opening post still gives the world the identity of the driver.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
