My skills, such as they are, are on the Energy forum
But the new format actually makes harder to give advice, rather than easier.
1) When the cursor was hovered over an item on the old format, it showed a small screen of the main text and this allowed me to decide whether or not a contribution from me would be of use, but now I have to open the full text of every post to decide if I can help or not
2) Where I had made a contribution to a post it flagged with an arrow head, but not any longer. The flag was useful in instances where there was an almost a continual conversation with the OP giving answers to questions I'd asked

The lack of date & time on messages is crazy too. If someone resurrects a really old thread, you can't tell which are recent posts and which are ancient.

Sometimes changes is needed, other times it is for change sake. This is definately the latter :(

I don't object to the design change, but the loss of significant functionality implies it wasn't thought out from the perspective of regular users. I used to be able to see from the index page which threads I'd contributed to - where's that indication now??
There also seems to be a problem with quoted replies. People seem to be entering their reply in the quote. I can't quite understand why but it never used to happen .

AND ANOTHER THING
On the old format, the posts were numbered individually, there are no post numbers on the new - These were useful to refer someone back to earlier posts in the thread

On a positive note, the new forum does track what you've read/not read across multiple devices.

PS: On Android in "mobile mode", the post time is missing because the green bar is full of user ID info that appears down the left hand side on desktop browsers. So I've my tablet's browser to "desktop mode".

For some reason the new forum doesn't keep me logged in, despite ticking the option when I sign in. Anyone else have this issue?
The new look is a huge change to get used to as I was still using the really old look on the last forum - which was an option you could select, but not any more!

OK, the new format has been up and running for a while. and as far as I can see, these are the "Improverments"
Loss of cursor hover read
Loss of post numbers
Loss of contribution flags
Loss of edit function
Loss of underlined text
Loss of coloured text
Loss of default to start of thread

Anyone else got more?

Posts can be edited, but it's less obvious. You have to click the cogwheel symbol in the teal banner, then click 'Edit'.
Text can be underlined, but it's fiddly. You have to click on the </> icon and enter and at the start and end of the relevant text.
• It's fiddly getting sensible paragraph spacing.
• Emojis end up being centre justified.
