Construction causing damage to my property

Hi folks,
LIDL recently got permission to turn an
old retail unit next to our property into a new store. The plans
appeared to show it was just an internal refurb as the shape, size,
design etc of the exterior was identical. 2 weeks into construction it
appears their plan is actually raze the entire site and build an almost
identical building in it's place. We objected to the application, along
with many other residents, but thats another story.
The
problem we have now is that the contractors have spent the last week
doing demolision and pile-driving the ground less than 20 meters from
our property. Not to mentioned the nuisance when they start this at 8am
on Saturdays and Sundays, more significantly it's caused pictures to
fall off walls, glasses and ornaments to rattle of tables but most
significantly cracks have started to appears in my render that were not
there before and chunks of render to crack and detach around the eves.
What
should my course of action be? Should I try to engage with the
contractors? The landlord? The planning applicant? Or should I just
go direct to my home insurers and have them deal with it?

I would say contact both the construction manager and the council. I would think the damage to your property would be cosmetic.
