Really hoping for removal / raising of the threshold for the HICBC today.
Other than that, increasing the personal allowance or 40% threshold would do nicely.

I think the budget will have changed quite a bit from original plans , be surprised if much impact on pensions
Absolutely. I think recent events will have removed any chance of a reform of pensions for the time being.

I think the only pension changes are likely to be around the LTA, as they want to encourage retired health professionals back to work, and the LTA is what encourages many, particularly medics to retire.

the other way to deal with that is to reduce the generosity of medics pensions; a win-win for the health service and the tax payer

Unlikely to happen, however. I can almost hear the squeals of anguish now...

Dr Asif said he works some 40 hours a week and his earnings cover a single salary household with an 18-month-old son.

He told MailOnline doctors are 'massively underpaid', adding: 'Mr Barbers' ill-informed comments made me appreciate the sheer ignorance that is prevalent...
At the time of writing, Dr Asif's twitter account has been deleted. Questions relating to any private work he does remain unanswered.

AIUI, only NHS consultants can do private work. Junior Doctors, like this guy, can't

Victory on doctors and nurses' pensions

The Chancellor announces a victory for doctors and nurses who were finding their pensions hammered by dodgy rules.

98% will be taken out of the current problem, the Chancellor claims, as he increases the taper threshold on pensions by £90,000.

It’s a very complicated issue but one that doctors had long complained about.

    So £110K/£150K to £200K/£240K
