I recently started a new job 8 weeks ago, I couldn’t provide a p45 so I filled a starter checklist, I was on emergency tax for 7 weeks over paying tax by £235, I was eventually put on the right tax code and was taxed correctly and was told several times by HMRC I would get the over paid tax back in the next couple of weeks.. after all this I was randomly taxed £187 in a week and now I am told I owe them £900, I’ve calculated my previous tax years and is all up to date now errors, Anyone know what I can do?

I have contacted several times no one has made sense of why I owe them £900 because they didn’t get the right details from changing jobs, I told them a week into my new job that I only have one job and was assured the system was updated to now them saying they didn’t get the info?Moneyineptitude said:

In 9 weeks that I have worked here I’ve been taxed £643 from my £3,141 earnings, seems a lot to meconmag96 said:

If you can go back to that thread and provide the details that are being asked (ie total earnings to date and total tax paid to date from week 43 payslip) we may be getting near to an answer.
