I am enquiring in behalf of a friend.
Wife currently gets contribution based ESA benefit + private pension, currently her husband is working full time, due too retire in May, once retired he will receive a lump sum + private pension, will this affect wife's ESA benefit?
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I'm assuming that the ESA that the wife receives is contributions based ESA. If so then any pension or lump sum the husband receives will not affect her ESA.

It should be contributions based because the husband is working full time. If it's Income Related then they wouldn't be entitled to it.
