I am having HSBC current account and HSBC credit card.
I plan to close my HSBC current account as I do not use that much.
It had been open in last 3 years.

Can I know which give more credit history? Current account or credit card?

You do not need to worry about credit score. Its credit history that counts. No missed payments or outstanding debts.

Assume that you have another bank account that can pay the credit card.

  • Yes, sorry, my English mistake. Is credit history. I edited the topic.

  • No difference as both are equal.  They both record a six-year history of account conduct.  :)

It's a rolling 6 years, so you only see the most recent 6 years. If closed then after 6 years the account will njot be in your history.
  • Thanks for your reply. Very helpful.
Do you think having a the oldest current account and credit card will give a good credit history?
    (there is no late payment)

It will probably work in your favour if your credit file shows that you have been able to manage one or ore credit accounts for many years without going overdrawn / having late payments.

There is a lot of good information on the Credit Karma and Experian websites.
