Chargebacks and Section 75 - faulty car from car dealer

Hi all
In summary I brought a faulty car in Nov19, the sale was subject to heating working, it still doesnt, and I found out after 2 and half weeks from a main dealer it has a failing head gasket. Its been to their different recommended garages 4 times. I have rejected the car twice, they refuse to play ball. I called the credit card company after advice from CA, to start section 75 claim. They said about doing a chargeback first and then if unsucessful they will do section 75. I am currently in the 45 days and waiting to see if the dealer disputes.
Has anyone else had experience of this and how long does the process take?
Thanks

The retailer has 45 days to reject the chargeback from when it is actioned. So that is usually from when you see the refund. If you do not hear anything, then it is good news. If they contest the chargeback, your card provider will be in touch.
How did you manage to reject twice?Life in the slow lane0 -
I rejected it in Dec 19, but then because the dealer was really rude and quite aggressive, and to try and defuse the situation, I agreed for them to attempt repair the vehicle again.
From that I had problems with the heating again so took it somewhere else and then they confirmed the same so I rejected the vehicle again.
Have you had a similar situation? I feel like I am going insane and knowing what the dealers are like they will probably dispute to prolong the process and to make it difficult.0 -
No I have not had a car issue.
As to dragging out the dispute process. They can't Visa & Mastercard set the time limits. If they do not respond in 45 days. Then you win.Life in the slow lane0
