I think it's highly likely that we'll get the option to set the default to 'display latest page first' before too long. There may be some alternative skins & colour schemes as well if we're lucky.
Who cares? The quote function works properly in chrome now. All else is forgiven.

Judging by the number of posts since the change the new format isn’t proving all that popular. I like that I can copy and paste images but the navigation isn’t as good. I think you have to be logged in to get straight to a new post.

Scroll to the bottom of the first page & then select the last page from the navigation bar.

Quite so !  But with the previous incarnations of the forum pages you could list topics then go directly to last page without needing to go via page 1.

Below is my reply to the above quote

With the old format you could just click on the latest post and go straight to it, not just to the top of the last page.

A bigger problem for me using an iPad though is if one uses the quote function one’s new post ends up in the grey quote section not below it. I’ll post this and see how it turns out.

Now it is working as it should.

I'm not finding navigation any different from the old platform on a PC. I stay signed in so that once I've visited a thread, I'm taken to the latest unread post on the next visit.

The double line spacing on the reply page is initially confusing & if you start typing & then delete your reply, the cursor goes into the quoted text area & won't come out.

But,  when someone suddenly opens a thread which has been dormant for some time, when you look at it you'll only go to the start of that topic !

Agreed ... I guess we'll have to live with it & hope that we get some user configurable settings in the future.

I can't say I particularly like this new format but hey ho.  But is there a way to mark all threads as read as everything is showing as "new" for me
