Our bank cannot understand why our mortgage lender is refusing as we have overpaid and never missed a payment in ten years but they say the woolich won’t budge
You probably need to speak to a broker - it's not impossible for someone to get a mortgage with foreign income - meaning the problem is likely going to be with what you declared/how you declared your income on the paperwork and/or that specific lender's criteria.

A broker can talk to the lender's business manager directly to find out what they'll need to see to prove your income and can discuss different options with you based on your specific circumstances.

That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Your banks opinion is irrelevant, you are speaking to a different company about their policy and probably also speaking to someone who is not qualified or if they are only understands one companies stance on things.

If you are not a resident and a non tax payer you are going to struggle with the vast majority of lenders. All of this should have been checked before you made an application, you would have saved yourself a lot of time and stress.

Go to the lender you are applying to and explain everything to them and see what they say. This is not going to slip through the cracks, so you may as well have the conversation with the lender and see what they say. They will either find a way to work through it or they will tell you they cant help, you then know what to do going forward.
