I went to the bank in 2018 after finding a fraudster had opened an account in my name, the bank said they had closed it and took the card, but left it open for months!!!
Is this legal, and what should I do?

May have left it open to trap the fraudster .

Yes it's legal. Perhaps poor customer service, but in no way a criminal offence.
Ensure it is now closed and move on with your life.

Is it possible it was left open while the fraud was investigated? How long was it left open for and is it now closed?0
