Premier Park and Xercise4Less

Hi, writing on behalf of my father-in-law.
On 27th Jan, he recently went to a bed shop close to our local gym, together with my mother-in-law. As she has serious issues walking, he asked at the gym if he could park there whilst they went to get the bed sorted out, and was told that it would be okay. He has received a PCN from Premier Park today (together with CCTV from the ANPR system), and a charge of £100 (£60 if paid within 14 days).
As the staff in the gym had said it would be okay, is this a legitimate defence to have the charges dropped, or does he really not have a hope?
TIA

Ask the gym manager to get this cancelled.
If this doesn't work then read the sticky thread for NEWBIES and send the initial appeal template in blue text you will find there. Send it unaltered from The Keeper. Do not miss the appeal deadline.
If you can get something in writing from the gym manager that The Driver (who you do not name) had permission to park The Keeper's car in their car park due to a disability, then include that with the appeal.
Do not reveal the driver's identity. Do not use mitigating circumstances.
The driver had permission to park. The PCN should be cancelled as a result as it was issued in error.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Was payment required at the car park? What is the alleged infraction?0

Sounds like a verbal contract agreeing you could park as a reasonable adjustment under the Equality Act and you need to complain to the Gym Manager.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
